dEX Ghana, Ghana’s largest design community, has unveiled plans for the seventh edition of its annual dEX Design Conference (DDC), scheduled to take place from November 12 to 14, 2026.

For the first time in the event’s history, the conference will be hosted at the National Theatre and will run for three full days, marking a significant expansion of the programme.

The 2026 conference will be held under the theme, “Sustainable Design for People, Planet, and Profit,” reflecting a growing focus on how design can contribute to social wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic growth across Africa.

The journey of dEX Ghana began in 2018 when a group of young creatives came together with the belief that African designers needed a dedicated platform where their work could be recognized, supported, and developed. What started as a small gathering eventually evolved into a major conference and a thriving creative community.

Today, dEX Ghana has grown into the country’s leading design network, operating year-round initiatives in education, research, advocacy, and community development. Through six previous conferences and several years of continuous engagement, the organization has impacted more than 10,000 designers from Ghana, across Africa, and within the diaspora.

Its membership, popularly known as “Dexters,” includes professionals from diverse creative fields such as graphic design, architecture, product design, branding, motion design, education, entrepreneurship, and policymaking. Beyond being participants in an annual event, members form part of a growing institution dedicated to advancing African creative excellence.

Reflecting on the organization’s growth, dEX Ghana Founder and President, Daniel Ampofo, said the true measure of success lies not in the numbers reached but in the impact made on the lives and careers of designers who have found opportunities, mentorship, and direction through the community.

According to him, dEX Ghana was established to provide a supportive environment for creatives, and eight years later, it continues to fulfil that mission by helping designers build successful careers, lead teams, establish businesses, and influence policy within the creative industry.
