Ghana delivered a remarkable performance at the Zone 3 Beach Volleyball Championship, winning medals in multiple events and finishing second overall to secure qualification for the African Nations Cup.
The impressive campaign highlighted Ghana’s growing stature in African beach volleyball and marked another milestone in the sport’s development.
The country’s biggest achievement came in the men’s pair competition, where Paul and Hameed produced a string of outstanding performances to clinch the gold medal.
Despite that success, Ghana narrowly missed out on the men’s team title after the host nation edged the Black Spikers 15-13 in a tense golden-set decider to claim the Zone 3 men’s team championship in front of their home supporters.
In the women’s team competition, Nigeria emerged champions with the gold medal, while Ghana finished runners-up to add another podium finish to an already successful tournament.
Although Ghana fell short of claiming the overall championship title, the team’s achievements—including men’s pair gold, women’s team silver and a second-place overall finish—earned qualification for the African Nations Cup in Morocco.
The qualification keeps Ghana’s hopes of competing on the global stage alive, as a strong showing at the continental championship could boost the country’s chances of securing a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The Ghana Volleyball Federation commended the players for their determination, discipline and resilience throughout the tournament, describing the campaign as a solid platform for future success.
With renewed confidence and valuable international experience, Ghana’s beach volleyball teams will now shift their focus to the African Nations Cup in Morocco, where they hope to challenge the continent’s top sides and continue their impressive rise.
