The African Agribusiness Consortium (AAC), in partnership with the Jospong Group of Companies, has held a thanksgiving service to celebrate the successful return of its Ghanaian scholars from Russia while announcing plans to sponsor another group of students under its agricultural scholarship programme.
The service, held at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Trasacco, on Sunday, August 2, brought together executives of AAC and the Jospong Group, parents, graduates, representatives of RUDN University, academics and development partners to thank God for the successful completion of the students’ postgraduate studies in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Executive Officer of AAC and Executive Director of the Jospong Group, Dr. Mrs. Adelaide Siaw-Agyepong, described the graduates’ achievement as a testament to God’s faithfulness.
She recalled that the initiative began as a bold vision to sponsor young Ghanaians to pursue postgraduate education in Russia and had grown into a successful programme despite the challenges encountered along the way.
“There were questions, uncertainties and logistical challenges, yet through every season God remained faithful. He protected our students in a foreign land, granted them wisdom to excel, and today they have returned home safely with their degrees. We give all the glory to Almighty God,” she said.
Dr. Siaw-Agyepong encouraged the graduates to use their education to serve society, stressing that true success is defined not only by academic achievement but also by humility, integrity and a commitment to making a positive impact.
She also expressed gratitude to parents, the leadership of RUDN University, the Ghana Embassy in the Russian Federation, the AAC Board, academic committees and all stakeholders whose support contributed to the success of the programme.
Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, congratulated the graduates and urged them to remain focused and patient as they transition into the world of work, reminding them that completing their studies marks the beginning of a greater responsibility to contribute to national development.
A key highlight of the event was the reaffirmation of the partnership between AAC, the Jospong Group and RUDN University. Representatives of the Russian university confirmed that the Memorandum of Understanding to sponsor 500 Ghanaian students remains in force.
Following the confirmation, Dr. Siaw Agyepong announced that preparations are underway to sponsor the next cohort of approximately 120 students to pursue studies in Russia.
Officials from RUDN University commended the collaboration, describing it as a model partnership for Africa that extends beyond scholarships to promote knowledge transfer, technology exchange and capacity building aimed at advancing agriculture and environmental sustainability across the continent.
The thanksgiving service concluded with prayers for the graduates and a renewed commitment by AAC, the Jospong Group and RUDN University to continue nurturing skilled agricultural professionals to support Ghana’s food security and sustainable development goals.
