Ghana national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz has announced a 28-man squad for Ghana’s preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the upcoming international friendly against Wales national football team in Cardiff.
The squad consists of five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards, with training officially beginning on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Dragon Park.
Ghana is scheduled to play Wales on Tuesday, June 2, as part of its preparations for the World Cup tournament to be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Among the notable returnees is Baba Abdul Rahman, who has impressed this season with PAOK FC after making 35 appearances and contributing three goals and three assists.
Ernest Nuamah of Olympique Lyonnais also returns to the national team after spending close to a year recovering from an ACL injury.
The squad further includes recalled players such as Abdul Mumin of Rayo Vallecano, Augustine Boakye of AS Saint-Étienne, and Alidu Seidu of Stade Rennais FC.
Young Ajax prospect Paul Reverson has also earned a call-up for assessment as part of Ghana’s long-term development plans.
At the World Cup, Ghana has been drawn in Group L, where the Black Stars will face Panama national football team in Toronto, England national football team in Boston, and Croatia national football team in Philadelphia.
