Christians urged to venture into politics to salvage society – PC. Mr Chris Jojo Arhin Arthur, Agona West New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) has reiterated calls on Christians to seek political positions to enable them help outline good transformative policies and programmes that will inure to the benefits of all.

He said when an elder or a pastor contest a political position, he or she would use his or her faith to seek the welfare of the masses for them to enjoy quality and better life.

Mr Arthur made the remarks when he joined Swedru Assesism branch of Church of Christ to worship and thank Almighty God for his victory in the recent Agona West NPP Parliamentary primary.

 Mr Arthur, accompanied by the Constituency executives, party coordinators, delegates, sympathizers, and friends also worshiped with Bethesda Methodist Church, Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Dweneho Central and Victory Assembly Church of Pentecost, Swedru Central Church of Christ,  Nkubem Church of Pentecost and of God Church at Nsusoso.

Mr Arthur and his entourage had earlier worshiped with Muslims at Swedru Old Zongo Central Mosque on Friday to thank Allah, similarly on Saturday they joined Swedru Central SDA Church where he offered thanks to Almighty God.

 The PC, also a preacher of Swedru Assesim  branch of the Church of Christ, urged Christians to develop keen interest to contest political position to help improve their local communities and constituencies at large.

He pledged that he and the campaign team would conduct clean and decent campaigns devoid of insults, name calling, and indecent language that would fuel political tension in Agona West.

He said under his watch as PC and leader of the New Patriotic Party in the Agona West, he will urge political opponents to support in maintaining peace and not to cause mayhem in the area.

Rev Alex Opku Brenya, in charge of Bethesda Methodist Church congratulated Mr Arthur for his resounding victory in the recent primary and assured that the Church will continue to offer prayers in support of him to enable him to come out with flying colours in the December 7, 2024, elections.

Rev. Opoku Brenya admonished Mr Arthur to let infrastructural and human development be his top priority to enhance quality living standards of the citizenry if he was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
