Stanbic Bank Ghana has been named the Overall Best Bank in Ghana at the 17th edition of the prestigious EMEA Finance African Banking Awards 2024.

The bank was also adjudged the Best Investment Bank for the 4th year in a row and the Best Debt House for the 5th time, reaffirming the bank’s leadership in Ghana’s financial sector, an official release issued to the Ghana News Agency, said Monday.

The annual awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and leadership in banking across Africa.

Organised by EMEA Finance, a leading financial publication covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the African Banking Awards highlight institutions that demonstrate outstanding performance, robust financial growth, and commitment to their customers.

Speaking on the achievement, Kwamina Asomaning, Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Ghana, expressed pride in the recognition and attributed the success to the bank’s exceptional team and collaborative efforts.

“This recognition as the Overall Best Bank in Ghana is a testament to the strength of our franchise and the power of collaboration. At Stanbic Bank, we are committed to empowering dreams and driving economic growth, and these awards are an acknowledgment of our relentless pursuit of excellence,” he said.

Mr. Asomaning also emphasised the bank’s dedication to meeting the needs of its clients through innovative solutions and expert financial services.

He noted that “Being adjudged the Best Debt House and Best Investment Bank “further reflects our ability to provide strategic financing and investment solutions that drive sustainable development across Ghana and beyond. “We dedicate this achievement to our loyal customers and hardworking team members who continuously propel us to greater heights.”

In a tribute to the resilience and excellence of leading financial institutions, EMEA Finance highlighted the outstanding performance of its award winners despite challenging global economic conditions.

They said: “Our winners remain resilient despite having to contend with tricky macroeconomic circumstances, which are mostly beyond their immediate control. Although the economic climate could be better, prudent risk management, compelling client offers and thoughtful lending practices have proved their value again this year.

“There is definitely a benefit to being the best in class and this year’s winners maintain healthy balance sheets supported by growing deposits and robust liquidity”.

Stanbic Bank Ghana is a member of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest bank by assets, with a presence in 20 African countries.

Last year, the Group won an impressive total of 29 awards at the 16th edition of the EMEA Finance Africa Banking Awards.

Since its inception in Ghana, Stanbic Bank has established itself as a leading financial institution committed to driving economic transformation and improving lives.

“With its client-centric approach, Stanbic Bank continues to empower individuals, businesses, and communities to achieve their financial aspirations,” the release said.
