The Ghana Enterprises Agency is encouraging entrepreneurs, SMEs and business operators to pay close attention to the opportunities emerging from its engagement with the United States Virgin Islands delegation currently in Ghana.
With the Business and Tourism Reception 2026 set for June 12, GEA is serving as the key local coordinating institution for a partnership that officials say could open doors in trade, tourism, procurement and investment.
Margaret Ansei, CEO of GEA, said the agency’s role is rooted in its national mandate to develop micro, small and medium enterprises and help them scale. In this case, scaling means more than increasing production — it means helping Ghanaian businesses connect with buyers, partners and routes into external markets.
The visiting USVI team has already signaled interest in a range of areas, including trade, construction, recruitment, technology and investment. For GEA, that creates a timely platform to showcase Ghanaian products, Ghanaian talent and the readiness of local businesses to compete internationally.
If the reception delivers meaningful business linkages, it could stand as another example of GEA’s growing role not just as an enterprise support institution, but as a strategic connector between Ghanaian SMEs and global opportunity.
