Ghana records 191 new COVID-19 cases

Ghana has recorded 191 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the number of active cases to 1,330.

The total cumulative case count as of January 8 stands at 56,421 with 54,753 recoveries.

An update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) shows that the number of deaths remain 338.

Main breakdown

The number of persons in severe condition is 42, while four are in critical condition.

Four regions; Ahafo, North East, Oti and Savannah, have no cases of the Coronavirus disease.

The Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western, Eastern, and Central Regions continue to lead with high infection rates.
