Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have set their sights on reaching the group stage of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League, backing their continental ambitions with a $1.5 million budget for the campaign.
The Tarkwa-based club is aiming to make a significant impact in Africa’s premier club competition as it prepares to compete against some of the continent’s top teams.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Medeama Communications Director Benjamin Graham said the club’s objective extends beyond simply participating in the competition.
“Our ambition is to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League and compete at the highest level against some of Africa’s biggest clubs,” Graham said.
Medeama have strengthened their squad during the transfer window in preparation for the demanding continental campaign, with the club expressing confidence that the new signings will provide the quality and depth required to compete successfully both domestically and in Africa.
Graham said the $1.5 million budget allocated specifically for the CAF Champions League campaign underscores the club’s determination to make a meaningful impact.
“Our budget for the CAF Champions League campaign alone is $1.5 million, which reflects our level of commitment and our ambition to make a deep run in the competition,” he stated.
The 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions are expected to begin in the first week of September, with Medeama representing Ghana after winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.
With substantial financial backing, strategic squad reinforcements and a clear objective of reaching the group stage, Medeama SC are hoping to establish themselves among Africa’s elite clubs and deliver a memorable continental campaign.
