Mfantsipim School officially kicked off its 150th anniversary celebrations on Friday, March 20, 2026, with the unveiling of a commemorative cloth and two specially composed songs.
The event, held at the World Trade Centre Accra, brought together alumni, students, partners, and key stakeholders to celebrate the school’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
The occasion was marked by pride and reflection as the school introduced its anniversary cloth, thoughtfully designed to reflect its rich history, culture, and enduring legacy. Attendees were also treated to performances of two original songs created to honour Mfantsipim’s past achievements while inspiring future generations.
A standout moment of the launch was a fundraising drive that raised over GH¢1 million to support infrastructure development and campus improvements, reinforcing the school’s commitment to maintaining its high standards.
Winners of the anniversary songs and cloth competition—Benjamin Aaron Nattey, Derek Akohene Tetteh, Flora Adokoh, Ace Anan Ankomah, and Alfred Gyan—were recognised for their contributions to the milestone celebration.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Captain John Yamoah, commended supporters for their dedication over the years but stressed the need for stronger alumni collaboration to restore the school’s facilities to world-class standards.
In his closing remarks, Ebusuapanyin Moses Baiden Jnr described the anniversary as both a celebration of the past and a renewed commitment to the future, reaffirming the school’s focus on excellence and tradition.
The launch sets the tone for a series of activities aimed at preserving and advancing the legacy of Mfantsipim for generations to come.
