Ghanaian-South African songstress Adina Thembi, affectionately known as the “Vocal Goddess” and a leading force in highlife-pop, has kicked off 2026 with a powerful statement: her brand-new single “Stay Far”.
Released on February 26, 2026, “Stay Far” marks her first drop of the year and serves as the lead single from her highly anticipated second studio album, BECOMING (sometimes stylized as “Becoming… The Album”), slated for release later this year.
The track is already generating massive buzz across Ghana and beyond, with fans and media outlets hailing it as a “comeback terminator” and a certified banger. Adina herself described it enthusiastically upon release: “Better now never later. It’s a comeback terminator! Stay Far! Out now!!  #becoming”.
“Stay Far” is an empowering anthem centered on setting boundaries, self-love, and protecting your peace. It masterfully balances the heartache of separation with the strength found in knowing when to walk away. Adina’s signature soulful vocals shine through, blending heartfelt emotion with an infectious highlife-pop groove that’s perfect for both introspection and the dancefloor. Early reactions emphasize its relatable message fans are claiming the “Stay Far” energy as their new mantra for 2026.

Adina announced BECOMING earlier this year, sharing that it’s a project about growth, freedom, wholeness, and self-discovery (“becoming strong, becoming free, becoming whole, becoming me”). As the lead single, “Stay Far” gives fans a tantalizing preview of what’s to come, expect more soul-stirring, boundary-pushing sounds from one of Ghana’s most versatile vocalists.
