The Save a Street Child Foundation will officially launch its Skills Training and Mentorship Programme at Avalon Gardens Event Centre, Tema, on December 26th, 2024, at 9:00 AM. This event will mark a significant milestone in the foundation’s commitment to addressing streetism in Accra, focusing on empowering single parents and street children through skill acquisition and mentorship.
The theme for the event, “Empower Today, Illuminate Tomorrow,” reflects the foundation’s belief in creating brighter futures for the most vulnerable in society. The day will feature motivational speeches from distinguished guest speakers Ms. Fella Makafui, actress and entrepreneur, and Mrs. Karen Kane Takyi, fashion designer from Kashy Fashion. Training sessions will be led by Mrs. Ivy Appiah, CEO of Tiwajo Industries Ltd, promising attendees practical skills that could transform their lives.
The event has garnered support from various partners and sponsors, including Avalon Gardens Event Centre, Philanthropy Global Catalogue, GACA, Labour Department, Paradox, Blue Skies, BelAqua, and Republic Investments. These collaborations highlight the community’s collective effort towards social change and empowerment.
The foundation’s initiative aims not only to provide immediate relief through skills training but also to foster a supportive community that encourages personal and professional growth. By focusing on single parents, the program addresses one of the root causes of streetism, offering them a chance to secure employment or start their own businesses.
For more information about the event or to get involved, contact the Save a Street Child Foundation or visit their website at www.streetchildfoundation.com.
