Fatawu Dauda, goalkeeper for Legon Cities, believes he and Asamoah Gyan would have been held accountable if the Royals had been relegated.

The Accra-based club was on the verge of dropping out of the top flight during their final game against Eleven Wonders, but came back to win 3-2 and stay in the league.

Dauda says he is glad Legon Cities were able to survive relegation.

“I’m supposed to be the happiest player, myself and Asamoah Gyan, because of our pedigree, if Legon Cities had been relegated, we would have been dead but God did it for us by escaping relegation narrowly.” He said in a post match interview.”

“It was a difficult season for us, but we were able to beat Eleven Wonders and now we are not relegated.”

Legon Cities ended the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season 13th on the league log with 42 points.
