The Sekondi-Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STCCI), a registered independent business association comprised of registered enterprises and companies from the Western Region and beyond, has launched Ghana’s largest digital directory and online marketplace, through which businesses can connect with a vast network of potential traders/buyers in Ghana, Africa, and around the world.

The digital platform, www.chambersmarket.com also comes with an application that can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play for Apple users and Android users respectively.

Giving a brief about the platform at the official launch, Mr Nii Kpani Addy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) announced that the platform will enable users to own a virtual store, operate and promote business at convenience, shed off risks in managing a physical store/business.

He added that it will also enable patrons to access comprehensive and enhanced sales and promo services, learn of new customer preferences for products/services and feedback, and boost sales and profit margins.

Mr Addy, therefore, urged business owners in the Western Region and in the country at large to embrace the digital economy to be opened to the global community by getting their businesses online to serve the larger community.

Mr Henry Nii Aryi Cobblah, who highlighted the technicalities of the platform, described it as a platform with a global outlook giving businesses the connection, recognition, and reputation so deserved.

He further indicated that the platform has the tendency to grow entrepreneurs, create business opportunities and linkages, and deemed it as timely since it comes as an important tool in this pandemic era and urged business owners to take advantage of it to improve their businesses.

The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah

Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western Regional Minister applauded the STCCI for creating such an online business enabler to grow local enterprises in this COVID-19 driven regime.

He said the portal developed by STCCI will help indigenous Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be more organised and trade with the world.

According to him, the people of Sekondi-Takoradi have great minds and solutions to drive the region’s enterprise growth since the innovation was another made in “Tadi” and comparable to Alibaba in business.

He said the drive to make the Sekondi-Takoradi Financial Services Hub for the Region greatly hinged on such innovations from the private sector which also connected with the government’s desire to create jobs for its people.
