The 2024-25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) continues to produce more thrills, especially with Heart of Lions going top of the league for the first time this season.

Heart of Lions stretched their unbeaten run to six as they defeated reigning GPL Champions FC Samartex 1-0 at the Nsenkyire Arena on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.

Nana Frimpong’s solitary strike was enough to secure all three points for Heart of Lions, who are now joint top with Gold Stars on 24 points but edge the latter on a better goal difference.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko emerged victorious against Hearts of Oak in the 115th league meeting between the two sides.

Albert Amoah’s last-gasp strike was enough to secure all three points to the Porcupine Warriors after a horrendous mistake by Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey.

It was the first league outing for Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium this season, and the fans showed up in their numbers to support their team’s victory.

Kotoko moves to fifth on the league table with 21 points while the Phobians drop to seventh on the league table with 19 points. It was a five-goal thriller at the Nii Adjei Kraku Sports Complex when Vision FC narrowly edged Medeama SC.

Goals from Emmanuel Kyei, Joshua Rhule, and Abora Duku ensured Vision FC ended their three-game losing streak to record their third victory in their debut season.

Bernadinho Tetteh and Michel Sarpong scored a goal each for Medeama but could only serve as a consolation.

Elsewhere, Accra Lions, who were winless in eight games heading into week 13, pulled off a vital 1-0 win against Nations FC at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.

Lucky Nwafor’s first-half strike was enough to deliver all three points for Accra Lions, who, despite their win, stay in the bottom three with 12 points.
