Enterprise Life has introduced a tailored policy to provide comprehensive coverage for staff of community pharmacies to enhance their welfare.

The Pharma Care Group Life solution is being implemented in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) and the Community Practice Pharmacists’ Association (CPPA). Dr. Daniel Larbi-Tieku, Group Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Group, launched the initiative in Accra on Tuesday.

The policy includes protection against critical illness, accidental injury, and death, with affordable premiums suited to the financial realities of community pharmacy operations. Additional benefits include group enrollment, offering lower premiums and enhanced features for pharmacies seeking cost-effective coverage.

The company said that the insurance plan was designed to address the real-world needs of pharmacy staff, providing financial security in case of illness, accidents, or loss of life, while also supporting pharmacy owners in offering valuable employee benefits.

Mrs. Jacqueline Benyi, Managing Director of Enterprise Life, said ensuring the welfare of pharmacy staff had never been more important in an era where healthcare professionals continued to carry the weight of national health. She said the policy would offer tailor-made protection to the realities of the pharmacy profession, benefiting both employees and pharmacy business owners.

“By working hand-in-hand with PSGH and CPPA, we’ve designed a product that not only provides meaningful financial protection but also strengthens the overall value proposition of pharmacies as employers. It’s a win for both employees and pharmacy owners,” she said.

Dr Larbi- Tieku said the company would continue to offer holistic support to healthcare professionals and called on stakeholders to collaborate with Enterprise Group to “make a lasting impact on the wellbeing of those who serve our communities.”

Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh, President of PSGH commended Enterprise Life for the partnership, adding that the policy would serve the best interest of community pharmacists. “This partnership is a significant step forward for our profession. Community pharmacy staff are at the heart of primary healthcare, and their welfare cannot be overlooked,” he said.

Dr. Emmanuel K. Ireland, National Chairman of CPPA, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had highlighted the critical role of community pharmacists in healthcare delivery. He acknowledged the challenges they face and welcomed the insurance policy as a measure to support members in minimizing risks and enhancing their wellbeing.
