The Church of Pentecost, as of December 2024, has established its presence in 190 countries worldwide, including Ghana; an increase from 170 countries in 2023. The Church, within the same period, reported a total membership of 4,827,074, representing a 6.4 per cent increase from the previous year’s 4,534,644.

Also, the total number of ministers worldwide stood at 3,484, and 170,886 officers, which comprised 55,490 Elders, 36,635 Deacons, and 78,761 Deaconesses. Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, disclosed this when he presented the State of the Church’s Address  at its General Council Meeting held on Wednesday at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, Central Region.

The 47th Session of the General Council Meeting was held on the theme: “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling.” It brought together the Church’s leadership, ministers and officers to discuss the state of the Church as well as elect new leaders to steer its affairs.

Apostle Nyamekye said during the period the Church opened 843 new assemblies and created 132 districts. “All these achievements are in line with the Church’s commitment to spreading the gospel and bringing people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ,” he said.

“We want to not take that glory for ourselves but to give God the praise. We are trying to impact society as well, raising godly people who will go to their workplace and serve God there. ”Apostle Nyamekye said the Church undertook social intervention and development initiatives to support the welfare of members and the larger Ghanaian community.

These initiatives range from the construction of boreholes and bus shelters, road repairs, drainage system installations, streetlight maintenance and mass medical screenings to the establishment of food banks. The Church spent more than GHS17 million on educational sponsorship and over GHS10 million in healthcare support for members, as well as over GHS1million support in various apprenticeships.

Apostle Nyamekye admonished the Church and Christians to rise up to righteousness to possess and serve the nations of the world. “The church should rise up to righteousness and do what is right. The Government should rise up to righteousness. In so doing the nation will be exalted, because righteousness exalts a nation,” he added.
