The Women Ministry from Agorve District of the Church of Pentecost within Akatsi South in the Volta Region has organised a free health screening exercise for members of the Church.
The event, held at the Church’s Central Auditorium, also took participants through some skills training such as bridal fun formation, fascinator, and others.
Dr Michael Dovlo, a medical House Officer at Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and a member of the Church in the District disclosed that participants have gone through the necessary tests required for their well-being.
These, he said, include blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, basic hearing assessment, visual acuity, and others.
Dr Dovlo observed that some participants, especially farmers, were having issues such as general body pains whilst others suffered from hypertension.
The prevalence of hypertension, he said emerged from what he stated ‘non-adherence to anti-hypertension.’
Dr Dovlo also called for lifestyle modifications such as regular exercise and health checks, adherence to health-related directives, and others.
Mrs Angela Kpeli, wife of the District Pastor of the Church and leader of the health team, explained that the exercise remained an important activity for the well-being of members of the church.
She said the exercise would be sustained and open to all, including non-ChurchChurch of Pentecost establishes churches in 190 countries around the world. members.
