    COVID 19: No active cases in four regions in Ghana

    The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says four out of the 16 regions in the Ghana do not have any active cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid 19) as of August 12, 2020.

    The regions are Upper West, Upper East, Savannah and North East regions.

    The update by the GHS on it’s Website, however, said Ghana has recorded 168 new cases pushing total case count to 41,572.

    From the update, Ghana has 2,029 active cases, 39,320 recoveries while eight more deaths have been recorded increasing the toll to 223.

    The Greater Accra Region continues to lead the active cases chart with 766 current cases.

    Ashanti Region also has 538 active cases followed by Central Region and Eastern Region with 242 and 228 active cases respectively.

    The region with the least number of active cases is the Bono Region with three cases.

    Greater Accra Region – 20,749

    Ashanti Region – 10,393

    Western Region – 2,818

    Eastern Region – 1,972

    Central Region – 1,749

    Bono East Region – 689

    Volta Region – 626

    Western North Region – 568

    Ahafo Region – 463

    Northern Region – 454

    Bono Region – 439

    Upper East Region – 282

    Oti Region – 211

    Upper West Region – 88

    Savannah Region – 62

    North East Region – 9
