Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has restarted the production and distribution of its Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix after a comprehensive assessment by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) confirmed the product’s safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

In August, the company, in consultation with the FDA, voluntarily recalled select batches of the product that did not fully meet its stringent quality standards. Nutrifoods explained that the recall demonstrated its strong commitment to consumer safety and its willingness to take swift action when necessary.

“This responsible step reflects our unwavering dedication to protecting our consumers and ensuring the consistent safety and quality of our products,” the company said.

Following the recall, Nutrifoods collaborated closely with the FDA in a detailed review of its factory operations. During this process, the company reinforced its quality assurance systems by introducing stricter process controls and extended incubation procedures.

According to Nutrifoods, the review confirmed that its production processes and products now meet the highest standards and all regulatory requirements.

In a clearance letter, the FDA stated that it would continue to oversee Nutrifoods’ production under the agreed protocol, which includes a 15- to 21-day incubation period for all product batches, as well as regular sampling and testing of raw materials and finished goods.

Nutrifoods also offered an apology to consumers for any inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for their ongoing trust and support.
