Leicester City’s Ghanaian players, Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, are set for a new phase at the club following the dismissal of head coach Martí Cifuentes after just six months in charge. The decision comes after a series of inconsistent performances in the Championship.
Cifuentes’ departure was confirmed after last weekend’s defeat to Oxford United, which proved to be the final straw for the club’s leadership. Although there were some encouraging moments during his time in charge, Leicester failed to achieve the consistency the board was hoping for.

Fatawu has been one of Leicester’s best performers this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 29 matches across all competitions. His pace, creativity, and attacking threat have made him a key player. Ayew has also had a strong campaign, recording five goals and three assists in 29 appearances, with his experience and leadership proving important for the squad.
As Leicester enter this new chapter, both Ghanaian internationals will be hoping to adapt quickly, impress the next manager, and continue playing vital roles as the club looks to steady their season and move up the table.
