The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has officially launched the Kwahu Business Advocacy Association (KBAA), a non-governmental and non-partisan platform created to bring together and advance the interests of business leaders and entrepreneurs from the Kwahu area.
The inauguration, held on February 25, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, was themed “A Collective Voice for Enterprise: Kwahu Advocacy in Policy and Trade.” The event gathered senior government officials, business leaders, development partners, and traditional authorities. Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare were among the key dignitaries present.
In her keynote address, Ofosu-Adjare stressed the importance of stronger private sector collaboration, noting that the launch would help create an enabling environment for enterprise growth, especially in light of opportunities under the AfCFTA. The official logo of the KBAA was also unveiled during the ceremony.
KBAA President Kwabena Adjare Danquah described the association as a turning point for Kwahu business leaders, shifting from individual success to collective advocacy. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to non-partisan, policy-driven engagement, improved access to capital, innovation, youth enterprise support, and sustainable growth.
Membership will primarily be open to Kwahu-based businesses and executives, with non-Kwahu entities welcomed as Associate Members. The association is structured with a Board of Trustees, Managing Board, and General Assembly to guide its operations.
The launch highlighted Kwahu entrepreneurs’ historic role in Ghana’s economy and set the stage for coordinated advocacy to influence policy, expand trade opportunities, and strengthen Ghana’s industrial and economic development.
