Fast-rising Ghanaian musician Kwesi Taadi also known NAWALA3HUA pulled back the curtain on one of the most organic collaborations in his career during a candid KAKWAY pod session at the release party for his second EP, “Chinese Ne Ba”.

The 7-track project dropped on February 18, 2026 (following its vibrant release party on February 17 at Ranks Lounge, Adenta), and it’s already making waves with its blend of heartfelt storytelling, Afrobeat vibes, and raw emotion. Tracks like “Trauma,” “Hear My Cry,” “See Me Through,” “Adiza,” and standout feature “Her Choice” (track 5) showcase Taadi’s growth as an artist.

In the exclusive KAKWAY interview with host Mr KAK (now live on KakTV GH’s YouTube channel), Kwesi Taadi opened up about how the feature with talented singer Damaris Joi on “Her Choice” came together—proving that some of the best magic in music happens by chance.

According to Taadi, the collab was completely unplanned. It all went down at Savage Studio, where prominent producer Samsney (a frequent collaborator with Taadi on past works) was in session with Damaris Joi. Taadi happened to be in the same studio that day. When Damaris walked in, he seized the moment, expressed his admiration for her voice, and shared his interest in having her on a record.

He played her the beat and lyrics for “Her Choice” right then and there—and on that exact same day, Damaris stepped into the booth and delivered her smooth, captivating verse. No long planning, no back-and-forth emails—just pure, spontaneous chemistry.
Taadi also shared a fun behind-the-scenes detail: Damaris Joi wasn’t fluent in speaking Fante (a key element woven into the song’s cultural flavor), so he personally taught her the pronunciation and flow. With his guidance, she nailed it, and the rest, as they say, is history. The result? A heartfelt, bilingual track that fans are praising for its authenticity and emotional depth.
“Her Choice” (produced by Santo, mixed/mastered by Savage Mix) clocks in at around 3:09 and fits seamlessly into the EP’s introspective theme—exploring love, choices, and personal growth with Taadi’s signature storytelling.
This KAKWAY episode is a must-watch for any fan of emerging Ghanaian talent. It includes a full track-by-track breakdown of “Chinese Ne Ba”, insights into the inspiration behind the title (a nod to resilience and unique identity), challenges faced during creation, and Taadi’s journey from his earlier projects to this milestone second EP.
