Zaina Adamu, founder of Ghana Girl Rising, has been recognised on the 2026 Global Top 40 Under 40 list by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD), an initiative aligned with the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent.
The prestigious list celebrates individuals of African heritage who are making significant contributions across industries, driving change, and positively impacting their communities.
Adamu has distinguished herself through work that blends storytelling, policy, and empowerment. Through Ghana Girl Rising, she has supported young women in Ghana by creating access to educational opportunities both locally and internationally.
MIPAD Founder and CEO, Jonathan Olufowobi, noted that this year’s honourees represent a generation of leaders making strides in their respective fields while contributing to broader societal progress. He highlighted their growing influence and impact across various sectors globally.
The selected honourees will be officially celebrated during MIPAD’s Recognition Week in September 2026, which will take place alongside the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
