The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, is set to embark on a two-day tour of the Upper East Region starting April 27.
The visit will cover seven constituencies, including Talensi, Nabdam, Bolgatanga, Bolgatanga Central, Builsa North, and Builsa South, as part of efforts to engage party members at the grassroots level.
The tour aims to appreciate supporters for their role in the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections, while also gathering feedback on their concerns. It will further serve as an opportunity to mobilise support for the government and encourage continued commitment toward retaining power in the 2028 elections.
This forms part of a broader nationwide engagement, following similar visits to the Western, Central, Ashanti, and Upper West regions.
During his recent stop in the Upper West Region, Mr. Nketiah issued a strong warning against any attempts to manipulate the party’s electoral registers ahead of upcoming branch elections. Speaking at Boli in the Wa Central Constituency, he stressed that the party leadership has secured comprehensive digital backups of membership data, making any form of tampering ineffective.
He also assured residents that the Upper West Region will benefit from the government’s development agenda under John Dramani Mahama. According to him, key infrastructure projects—including road construction and plans to upgrade the Wa airstrip—are already underway.
Mr. Nketiah reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises, expressing confidence that the region will see significant improvements over the next four years.
He concluded by thanking residents for their continued support and pledged that the party would maintain its strong relationship with the people while delivering on its development agenda.
