The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced a change to the final Hajj flight originally scheduled to depart from Tamale on May 9, 2026.
In a statement released on Friday, May 8, the office explained that the flight will now depart from Accra on Monday, May 11, 2026, due to a lower-than-required number of pilgrims booked for the Tamale trip, which did not meet the airline’s minimum operational threshold.
The affected pilgrims are expected to join other travellers on flights departing from Accra, and the office said all pilgrims and their agents have already been notified of the new arrangements.
According to PAOG, the decision was made in line with airline operational procedures to ensure a more efficient airlifting process.
The office also thanked agents, officials and the public for their cooperation and support during the Tamale phase of the Hajj exercise.
In addition, PAOG praised pilgrims from Tamale for complying with directives on luggage requirements, reporting schedules and general conduct, noting that their cooperation helped ensure a smooth operation.
As preparations shift to Accra, the office has encouraged prospective pilgrims to continue observing all guidelines, including punctuality, luggage regulations and restrictions on prohibited items.
PAOG expressed confidence that the Accra phase of the Hajj operations will proceed successfully and called on all stakeholders to maintain their support and cooperation.
