The initiative is aimed at improving Internally Generated Funds (IGF), ensuring compliance among ratepayers, and strengthening the assembly’s revenue collection systems.

The exercise took place around the Tema Station area, where officials engaged traders, drivers, transport operators, market leaders and other stakeholders.

During the engagement, the team educated participants on the importance of paying tolls, rates and levies on time, stressing that such payments support local development projects and improve service delivery.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the assembly to address declining revenue from markets and lorry parks while improving accountability, transparency and efficiency in revenue administration.
