John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a two-day “Resetting Ghana Tour” of the Savannah Region on Friday, May 22, aimed at inspecting development projects and interacting with residents.

The President’s first stop will be in Sawla, where he is expected to launch the National BSTEM programme for basic schools. He will also inspect ongoing construction works on the Sawla–Wa highway and the rehabilitation of the Bole–Tinga road, both being undertaken under the government’s Big Push Programme.

During the first day of the tour, President Mahama is also expected to cut sod for the construction of the Bole District 24-hour Economy model market and visit projects at the Bole College of Education.

In addition, he will commission the Mahama ICT Centre in Damongo along with other educational infrastructure projects.

The itinerary also includes courtesy visits to traditional authorities, including the Yagbonwura.

On the second day of the tour, the President will be joined by ministers responsible for Roads and Highways, Education, and Youth Development and Empowerment, among other senior government officials.

He is expected to hold an open engagement with residents to discuss his administration’s achievements, ongoing policies, and to receive public feedback and concerns.

The tour will conclude with an inspection of the proposed Savannah Regional Hospital project before the President departs the region.
