Social Security and National Insurance Trust has dismissed reports suggesting it intends to sell its hotel assets, clarifying that recent advertisements were solely aimed at engaging consultants to provide advisory services for Golden Beach Hotels Limited.
According to SSNIT, the consultants will independently assess the operations and performance of the company, which manages La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.
The exercise is expected to produce recommendations aimed at improving operations, boosting efficiency, and developing a five-year business strategy to strengthen the long-term sustainability, competitiveness, and profitability of the hotels.
SSNIT stressed that the process is strictly a business improvement and strategic planning initiative and should not be interpreted as a divestment or sale process.
The Trust also noted that Labadi Beach Hotel remains one of its strongest-performing investments and continues to play a strategic role within its portfolio. Management added that the institution is actively supporting the hotel’s expansion plans to enhance its long-term value and contribution to the pension scheme.
SSNIT further assured contributors, pensioners, and the general public that all investment decisions are guided by sound financial principles, performance assessments, and sustainability considerations.
The Trust therefore urged the public to disregard claims that it plans to dispose of its hotels, reaffirming its commitment to protecting contributors’ funds and maintaining the long-term sustainability of the pension scheme.
