The inaugural Ghana Agricultural and Agro-Processing Industrial Technology Fair (Ghana Agrotech Fair 2026) is scheduled to take place in Accra from March 17 to 19, 2026, at Independence Square.

The three-day exhibition is being organised by the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry in partnership with the Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana EXIM Bank) as part of efforts to drive industrialisation, boost exports, and integrate technology and innovation into Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Held under the theme “Transforming Agribusiness through Local Innovation and Technology,” the event will showcase locally developed agricultural machinery, agro-processing equipment, and emerging technologies aimed at improving productivity and enhancing value addition.

The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is expected to officially open the Fair alongside the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana EXIM Bank, Sylvester Adinam Mensah. Their participation highlights the government’s commitment to building a modern and export-oriented agricultural economy.

As part of its mandate to promote industrialisation and export growth, Ghana EXIM Bank is leading the initiative in collaboration with both public and private sector partners. The fair aims to demonstrate how innovation and technology can help transform agriculture and agro-processing while promoting locally manufactured solutions.

In a social media post, Sylvester Adinam Mensah described the event as a flagship platform that will spotlight Ghana-made agricultural machinery, implements, and advanced agro-processing technologies.

According to him, the fair will bring together stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, including farmers, manufacturers, processors, exporters, investors, policymakers, and technology developers, to share ideas and explore practical solutions for the sector.

Activities at the event will include exhibitions, masterclasses, policy discussions, business networking sessions, and technical demonstrations. Participants will also be introduced to modern farming technologies, digital agriculture tools, packaging innovations, and sustainable production methods.

The initiative aligns with the government’s broader agenda to modernise agriculture, expand agro-processing capacity, reduce imports, and strengthen Ghana’s competitiveness in regional and global markets.

Organisers believe the fair will stimulate investment, promote partnerships, and create employment opportunities across the agricultural value chain. The event also forms part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of Ghana Export-Import Bank, the country’s main export finance institution.
