The Ghana Scholarships Authority has announced the opening of applications for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The programme is designed to support academically talented but financially disadvantaged Ghanaian students who have gained admission into accredited tertiary institutions across the country.
In a statement signed by Director-General Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei and issued on April 20, the Authority indicated that applications opened on April 20, 2026, and will close on May 20, 2026. It stressed that late submissions will not be accepted.
Prospective applicants are required to complete the process online via the official scholarship portal, where they must fill out the application form and upload all necessary supporting documents.
The Authority noted that shortlisted candidates will subsequently go through an aptitude test and a selection interview as part of the evaluation process.
Applicants have been advised to provide accurate and complete information to avoid disqualification.
For further enquiries, the public can contact the Authority via email or through its official hotline numbers.
