The Government of Ghana has signed a key term sheet agreement with Eni Ghana E&P, Vitol Upstream Ghana Limited, and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to support the expansion of domestic gas production under the Offshore Cape Three Points Project.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the government by John Abdulai Jinapor and Cassiel Ato Forson.
It outlines key commercial principles to guide the development of additional gas infrastructure under the OCTP Non-Associated Gas Upgrade Project.
This development builds on a Memorandum of Intent signed in September 2025, in which the parties agreed to collaborate on strategic investments to strengthen Ghana’s energy sector and expand domestic gas supply.
Under the planned expansion, gas output from the OCTP project is projected to rise by up to 350 million standard cubic feet per day by 2028.
Speaking after the signing, Mr Jinapor described the agreement as a major step forward for the country’s energy future, noting that it signals Ghana’s continued openness and stability for investment in the upstream petroleum sector.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a competitive investment climate while ensuring responsible development of the country’s natural resources for national benefit.
