Incumbent First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party USA Branch, James Owusu, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of Branch Chairman, presenting his bid as a call to serve and unite members.

With over 20 years of involvement in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Owusu has previously served as TESCON P.R.O, Branch Youth Organiser and Chapter Chairman of Cincinnati, experiences he says have equipped him with the leadership skills required at this critical time.

His campaign is built on key priorities including financial sustainability, digital transformation, strategic partnerships, youth and women’s empowerment, and accountability. He has also pledged to rebuild trust, improve transparency and foster unity within the branch.

Mr Owusu’s declaration comes as the party reorganises following its recent presidential primaries, which saw Mahamudu Bawumia emerge victorious.

With preparations underway for the next electoral cycle, the NPP-USA Branch is expected to play a crucial role in mobilisation and support efforts. Observers believe Mr Owusu’s experience and reform agenda could boost engagement among members, particularly young professionals and women within the diaspora community.
