The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Staff Welfare Association on Monday launched its welfare week in Accra to encourage staff to mingle and celebrate their collective achievements.
The event, which is being replicated in 10 regions across the country, is expected to create a platform for the staff to get together and bond with each other.
Mr Ernest Ayeh-Datey, the Chairman of the NPA Staff Welfare Committee, who launched the week-long celebration, said the welfare week sought to encourage staff to take a break from the usual work routine and have some fun.
“This week is special on our calendar, as it reminds us that beyond the deadline targets and daily work demands, we are family, a community of people whose well-being, growth and happiness matter,” he said.
He said the committee had lined up engaging activities, inspiring sessions and opportunities to connect staff in ways that would enrich their personal and professional wellbeing.
Mr Ayeh-Datey said the welfare week was expected to create an avenue for the staff to acknowledge the human side of their work, adding; “Our health, relationships and collective spirit affirm that productivity and welfare go hand in hand and show that when staff are cared for, organisations thrive.’
Madam Dzidzor Klake, the Vice Chairperson of NPA welfare committee, said the staff would have an Entrepreneurial Fair on Tuesday to encourage them to showcase their ‘side hussle’, on Wednesday, they will be assisted by the Buss Stop Boyz to clean the streets of Dzorwulu and its environs as part of the week celebration.
She said a quiz will be held on Thursday to enable staff to compete for a title and some prizes.
“Friday is a party; we will have a guest artiste come in here to perform for us to make merry and celebrate our achievements,” she said.
The Welfare week begun with a breakfast launch, creating an opportunity for the staff to dine together and connect with each other.
The Vice Chairperson said the celebration would be climaxed on Monday with a talk on Corporate Harassment to foster a good working relationship among staff.
The NPA staff Welfare week is organised once a year for about 600 staff across the region to pause, connect and reflect on their contributions to the organisation’s growth.
The National Petroleum Authority was established by an Act of Parliament (NPA Act 2005, ACT 691) to regulate the petroleum downstream industry in Ghana.
As a Regulator, the Authority ensures the efficiency, profitability, and fairness of the industry, while making sure that consumers receive value for money.
