Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has named Ing. Frank Asirifi Otchere as its new Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment taking effect from May 8, 2026.
The announcement was made in an official circular signed by Board Chairlady Kuukua Maurice Ankrah. The statement also confirmed the appointment of Ing. Samuel Nkansah as Deputy Chief Executive responsible for Finance and Resources.
Additionally, Ing. Samed Abdul Ibrahim, who currently serves as Director of the Project Implementation Unit, has been appointed Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations.
As the new head of GRIDCo, Ing. Otchere will oversee the operations of Ghana’s state-owned electricity transmission company, which manages power transmission nationwide and plays a key role within the West African power network.
Management has called on staff to offer full cooperation and support to the newly appointed leadership team as they assume their responsibilities.
The appointments come at a time when GRIDCo is intensifying efforts to improve operational performance and ensure stability of the national power grid amid ongoing challenges in the energy sector.
Recently, the company experienced a significant disruption after a fire incident at the Akosombo switchyard control room affected parts of electricity transmission and power generation operations across the country.
