    Sports Minister praises GOC President for YEA package for Athletes

    The Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Asiamah has heaped kind words on the Ghana Olympic Committee President, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah for securing Youth Employment Agency (YEA) package Ghanaian athletes.

    The YEA inked a package to support Ghanaians Athletes for six months with monthly stipends in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic.

    Each athlete will receive a monthly stimulus package of GHC500 for the next six months.

    The package covered both abled and disabled athletes who have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Speaking at the 26th ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Hon. Isaac Asiamah celebrated the proactive Ben Nunoo Mensah for the groundbreaking deal.

    “We recently announced a stimulus package for every youth in sports in Ghana. The package is to provide immediate stimulation to upgrade the economy depart of COVID-19 for our young men and women who have taken sports as their profession”, Asiamah told the Press.

    The YEA in the next four/ five years will have about 5,000 athletes benefiting from this scheme.
