Muniru, who was released by the Ghana Premier League side is believed to be under police investigation for allegedly being involved in a football match-fixing saga.

Per the details of a letter addressed to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) from INTERPOL dated January 29, 2021, the combative midfielder is being investigated after his named popped up in a match-fixing case.

The security service is seeking information on whether the younger brother of Sulley Muntari was in Ghana between the period of October and November 2020.

Muniru’s travel history has also been requested by the INTERPOL to help in the investigations.

Below is the letter received by the Ghana Immigration Service from the INTERPOL.

The player could be up for further investigations should he be found not in Ghana in the given period.
