Ghanaian International, Thomas Teye Partey on Monday transfer deadline sealed his long-awaited move from Spanish giants Athletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga to English Premier League side, Arsenal.

The deal worth £45m and Partey became the most expensive Ghanaian to have to make a switch to the English Premier League.

Following his move, a lot of Ghanaian internationals have expressed their gratefulness about the move and has wished the Black Star midfielder well in his new adventure in his professional career.

And this has gone unnoticed by former Kumasi Asante Kotoko chairman, Herbert Mensah.

Herbert Mensah expressed his happiness by saying that nothing makes him happier than to see Ghanaians in any legitimate walk of life is recognised.

“Thomas is an astounding footballer with wonderful qualities. He has strength, speed and ability to read the game (like the great Makele), adapts where required, is fearless and importantly for me can transition from defence into offence.” Herbert Mensah said.

But in recognition of how difficult the English Premier League is, the former Asante Kotoko chairman pleaded with the Arsenal fans to give the Krobo- Odumasi boy time as Arteta integrate him into the Arsenal set up unhurriedly. He said, “The EPL is arguably the toughest league in the World and he is joining an Arsenal team in transition and a league which has already started. I hope the fans will be patient and Arteta will ease him slowly into the game.”

Finally, Mr Herbert Mensah showed off proudness to be a Ghanaian and wished other professional Ghanaian footballers will be seen playing in the top leagues in the world by featuring for the big teams in those leagues.

Born as Herbert Amponsah Mensah, the Ghanaian is a businessman, sports administrator and the current president of the Ghana Rugby Association operating as the Ghana Rugby Football Union. He was born in Kumawu on the 26th of December.
