Zonda Tec Ghana has donated a brand-new GWM POER pickup vehicle to the Tema Regional Police Command to enhance law enforcement operations and improve mobility for police personnel.
The donation forms part of the company’s “Built in Ghana, Building Ghana” initiative, which seeks to promote local industrial development, strengthen public service delivery, and foster collaboration between the private and public sectors.
According to the company, its vehicle assembly operations in Ghana are focused on creating employment opportunities, supporting local manufacturing, and providing vehicles specifically designed to meet African operational and terrain requirements.
Speaking during the presentation, the Chief Executive Officer of Zonda Tec Ghana, Yang Yang, said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to community safety and development.
She noted that safety extends beyond production and workplace environments to include the protection of communities, adding that the police play a critical role in safeguarding citizens and businesses.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the police service, Eric Asamoah Asiedu expressed gratitude to the company, stating that the pickup would improve the command’s operational efficiency and response capabilities.
The donated GWM POER pickup is a premium model designed for demanding environments. It features a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, reinforced suspension, high ground clearance, advanced safety systems, and a spacious cargo area suitable for field operations.
Zonda Tec indicated that the vehicle is ideal for use in sectors such as security, mining, construction, agriculture, logistics, and emergency services, where reliability and durability are essential.
The company emphasized that the donation demonstrates its continued commitment to strengthening Ghana’s industrial and operational capacity through the production and promotion of locally assembled vehicles.
