Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana scored the winning goal for Atalanta on Monday night when the team brushed aside AS Roma with a 2-1 victory in the Italian Serie A.
The Black Stars midfielder missed out on a starting role for the Round 36 encounter but came on in the 68th minute to replace midfielder Mario Pasalic.
Less than 10 minutes after coming on, Ibrahim Sulemana showcased his ability to score with a long-range strike.
He pounced on a loose ball just outside the AS Roma area and fired a first-time shot that went into the back of the net.
Before his equaliser, Nigerian sensation Ademola Lookman had scored to give Atalanta the lead in the 9th minute of the first half.
However, a Bryan Cristante strike in the 32nd minute restored parity for AS Roma before the break.
Thanks to Ibrahim Sulemana’s first goal for Atalanta, the club secured a crucial 2-1 win that guaranteed the side qualification to participate in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
