Ghana welcomed 112,000 passenger arrivals in August 2025, highlighting the continued rebound of the country’s travel and tourism sector.

The figure, one of the strongest in recent months, reflects sustained demand for both business and leisure travel despite global economic uncertainties.

According to data from the High-Frequency Economic Indicators, monthly arrivals have consistently stayed above the 100,000 mark this year, reinforcing Ghana’s growing appeal as a hub for conferences, leisure tourism, and investment opportunities in West Africa.

The August performance is particularly notable given heightened competition from regional peers, many of which are scaling up efforts to attract international visitors.

It also points to improved flight connectivity, government-backed promotional campaigns and targeted support for the tourism value chain as key drivers of Ghana’s resilience.

These arrivals are expected to accelerate in the final quarter of the year, traditionally a peak season for global travel.

However, sustaining momentum will depend on continued investment in infrastructure, streamlined visa processes and enhanced security measures to attract high-value tourists.

The steady rise in passenger inflows is also projected to benefit complementary sectors such as hospitality, retail  and transport which are critical engines of job creation and economic diversification.
